First Friday Feasts
Nov 27th, 2006 by Br. Joshua
During terms, the Newman Center takes the occasion on every first Friday of the month to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus with a holy feast, along with some righteous party games, fellowship and karaoke.
Foods provided vary by theme; some regulars are a “Taste of the Burgh” (classic traditional Pittsburgh fare), “Una Bella Sera” (above-standard Italian), as well as various church “feasts”, e.g., Christmas, Mardi gras, et al.
Feasts are typically announced in the Campus Ministry Notes and are held in the Student Center main conference room after the 5:15 p.m. Mass, to which all feast participants are heartily encouraged to come and raise their voices in praise of the Savior’s Sacred Heart at the feast of faith.
