Campus Ministry Orientation Events, II
Aug 25th, 2006 by Br. Joshua
Coming up, for the week of August 27th
Sunday, August 27th:
- Annual Opening Mass and BBQ for New and Returning Students  St. Paul Cathedral, 6 to 9 p.m. The opening Mass of the Holy Spirit kicking off the school year will be followed by an almost equally festive and delicious barbeque on the lawn at St. Paul’s, which is open to all area college and university students. A great opportunity to meet the Cathedral and Campus Ministry staff, learn about upcoming programs, events and ministries, and meet new peers joined with us in our heritage of faith. Bring a friend!
Tuesday, August 29th:
- Picnic at Chatham College - 5:00 p.m. on the Academic Quad, or in case of rain in the Anderson Dining Room. Meet the Newman Center staff and Newman Club reps.
Wednesday, August 30th:
- Volleyball - Cathedral of Learning Lawn, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. (in case of weather, check back for updates). All area students are welcome to join the Newman clubs for an evening of leisurely fun and fellowship.
Friday, September 1st:
- First Friday Feast - Newman Center, following the 5:15 p.m. Mass. Bring your appetite for “Una Bella Sera” and all your Italian favorites. Afterwards, feel free to croon to one of our karaoke classics, or try your luck at the billiards or foosball.
Saturday, September 2nd:
- Steeplechase Saturday - meets at the Newman Center at 1 p.m. to take a gander and whisper some prayers at some of Pittsburgh’s most beautiful churches. All students are invited to come experience the history and loving labor of our spiritual ancestors in the planning and construction of these veritable monuments of faith, and learn a bit about our faith and culture according to an ancient method. This visit will include Sacred Heart in Shadyside, and Immaculate Heart of Mary on Polish Hill; transportation will be by the buses, so bring your ID card.
