Fr. Victor Mosele talk

On Wed, Dec 2 at 8:35 pm in room 1501 posvar, Father Victor Mosele will be here to talk about his experiences as a missionary in Africa and the RUF rebels and child soldiers. Born and raised in Italy, Fr. Mosele was a missionary with the St. Francis Xavier Foreign Missionary Society and for nearly 30 years he lived and worked in Africa. After being captured by child soldiers in Africa twice, Fr. Mosele was moved to the United States where he currently works with college students in Madison, Wisconsin. Come join us for this exciting and interesting talk by Fr. Victor Mosele.

Pancake Breakfast

FOCUS Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, November 15 following 11:00am mass
Missionaries and students will be holding a pancake breakfast in the basement of the Oratory after the 11 am Mass, replacing the usual bagels and doughnuts. We will be serving eggs, sausage, and pancakes and the price is $5 per person or $12 per family. We are fundraising in order to take students to the FOCUS National Conference held in Orlando, FL from Dec. 30, 2009-Jan. 3, 2010. We will be joining five thousand other college students and 250 missionaries for five days full of some of the most well-known Catholic speakers, entertainment, prayer, and daily Sacraments. FOCUS Story of the Week

This past week the girls of the team (Anne, Danni, and Ashton) decided to try someting new. They set up outside of their house on a Thursday night and gave away smores. They live on a big party street between a couple of frat house and so plenty of people stopped by seeing young people having fun without drinking. It was a great witness for the student leaders and all the students who walked by them. They even had one student who stopped drinking that night and hung out for over an hour.

Sorry for the missing weekly posts, but it has been a very busy couple of weeks on campus!

One of the great stories from the past few weeks has been the success of the Men’s Night two Thursdays ago! We had 16 men praying outside the rosary outside of a strip club. One of the guys was coming to what he thought would be his first Bible Study, but was very excited to be attending this awesome and courageous event! The Holy Spirit really is working on the students in Pittsburgh.
