The Worldwide Adoration Project is promoting an hour of Eucharistic adoration beginning at 7:00 pm on April 2, 2008, this day being the third anniversary of Pope John Paul II’s death. The Fathers of the Oratory and the Eucharistic Adoration Committee invite you join us in the Oratory chapel for a holy hour from 7:00 to 8:00 pm as we commemorate the life and witness of Pope John Paul II. The holy hour will include readings from John Paul II on Eucharistic adoration, a homily (guest speaker: Fr. Brian Welding), chanting of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Benediction. Following the holy hour there will be a light reception with a viewing of the documentary John Paul the Great: A Pope Who Made History.

The Oratory looks forward this month to hosting a Eucharistic event – the traditional forty hours devotion. During our “Forty Hours for Life” in advance of the annual “March for Life” in Washington D.C., from Thursday night to Saturday morning, January 18 – 20, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration in the Oratory chapel. In addition to the opportunity for silent prayer, the schedule will include some small meals downstairs with talks, special speakers/homilists, and devotional prayers interspersed throughout this triduum. Look in this space for details in the coming weeks, but reserve a spot on your calendar, and consider signing up for one or more hours for this special event.
