“The may take our lives, but they’ll never take…our freedom!!!”  Or at least that whats Mel Gibson says in the movie Braveheart.  The reason for the movie quote is that this weekend, Fr. Steven will be leading an undergrad retreat at the Rednal Retreat House in Ligoneer, PA.  The theme will on the magnanimity of heart or courage of heart, and because of this the alternate theme is Braveheart.  20$ covers the cost of food, transportation and lodging and this retreat is restricted to UNDERGRADS only.  All undergraduates are welcome to attend.  Departure will be from the Oratory right after the spagettii dinner on Friday the 29th (around 7 or 8pm) and we will return sun around 1pm on the 31st.  Any questions, contact Fr. Steven at frstephen@pittsburghoratory.org.

March for Life

This Friday, January 22 marks the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade which is the court case that officially legalized abortion in the USA.  On this date is the 37th annual March for Life held down in Washington DC to protest abortion.  The students for Life campus organization is sponsoring a bus trip down to DC to participate in the March for Life.  This trip is free for all college students and will depart from St. Pauls Cathedral in Oakland at 6am and will return around midnight that Friday.  All are welcome to attend.  Sign up sheets can be found on the front desk of the Newman Center.  We ask those who cannot attend to keep all those who will be at the march in their prayers as they make this pilgrimage for life.
